Our main responsibilities include ensuring that the university complies with several regulations administered by
the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the Virginia Department
of Environmental Quality (DEQ), such as the Virginia Erosion and Stormwater
Management Program (VESMP) Regulations, the Chesapeake Bay Preservation
Act (CPBA) Regulations, and the Municipal Separate Storm Sewer System
(MS4) Permit Regulations.
We also manage JMU's Bee Campus and Tree Campus certifications, and partake in various other natural resource related tasks and activities on campus.
