Volunteer: Volunteer for Virginia History Day District 4 CompetitionThe District 4 Virginia History Day contest, an affiliate of National History Day, is happening at Mary Baldwin University on Saturday, March 7! National History Day is a project-based learning program for students in grades 4-12, similar to a science fair, but for history. We are looking for volunteers who are willing to keep the competition running smoothly by helping with wayfinding, organizing, registration and more! You must be willing to commit to at least 2 hours anytime between 7:30am-3:00pm on Saturday, March 7. These hours can be used for service hours, club or organization requirements and more. Volunteer Assignments include: Set-up assistance: Arrive Friday afternoon to assist putting numbers on doors and moving tables for the exhibit hall. Wayfinding assistance: Help judges, students, parents and teachers to the right room for their assignments. Room monitor: Stand outside of the room and make sure students are ready to present when judges are ready. Outside drop-off/parking assistance: Assist students who need to drop off materials prior to parking in upper lots and assist with parking wayfinding for cars and buses.
