Volunteers working within the Youth Services Department provide staff with help shelving, cleaning, and organizing library materials. Volunteers may also help with children’s programming by compiling materials, such as packets or booklets, or by preparing crafts.
Volunteers working within the Adult Services/Reference Department may be asked to work on special reference projects, such as weeding and inventory projects.
Volunteers working within the Circulation Department provide staff with help preparing library materials for circulation, shelving, shelf reading, and cleaning/organizing materials.
Volunteers working within the Technical Services Department help with mending and covering books, cleaning DVDs or CDs, and discarding items from circulation.

A Volunteer Interest Application must be filled out and submitted. Applications are currently available at the front desk of the Central Branch. The Volunteer Coordinator can also email the application to interested applicants. Start-up paperwork and training will be completed on the first day of volunteering. A background check is mandatory for all adult volunteers.
