The Salvation Army's Annual Red Kettle Campaign runs for almost 2 months and the success of the Red Kettles is a direct result of the time and commitment that our volunteer groups and individuals bestow upon us.
Our Red Kettle season starts on Thursday, November 5th and will conclude on Thursday, December 24th. And this year we have a new website to sign up bell ringer called Golden. We operate 15 different kettle sites in Harrisonburg and Rockingham County, and we always have a need for volunteers to work the outdoor sites so that we can allow older and disabled volunteers to work inside.
Individuals or groups are welcome to be volunteers and if needed we do issue letters for community service hours. Just sign up ahead of time with a phone call and reserve your spot(s), our courtesy calls will begin in early October. Having a successful Red Kettle season is dependent on our bell ringers and we hope you will join us again. To sign up or to get more information, contact Kimberly Bruce by calling 540-830-8819, or by email at kettleringing@gmail.com. Or contact Warren McKeen, Development Director at 540-383-7890 or email at: Warren.McKeen@uss.salvationarmy.org
Teams are acceptable if dividing up the hours at a site, we prefer no more than 3 people at a kettle site at one time.
