Help Us Celebrate Disability Awareness Month
During Disability Awareness Month, Pleasant View organizes a series of commemorative activities, including an annual rally. Students can support this event by welcoming participants, helping in the parking lot, walking alongside them, and/or listening to them tell their stories.
This event is from 1pm-2pm on Wednesday, March 11, 2026
Pleasant View's Disability Awareness/Acceptance Rally Wednesday, March 11, 2026 starting on Court Square, Harrisonburg at 1:00pm. We will then carry our rally south on Main Street to the first floor meeting room at Massanutten Regional Library. Join us to recognize individuals with developmental disabilities in our community. Come listen, learn what means most to our speakers, and commit to work together to make the our community more inclusive and appreciative of all gifts and abilities.
Our Mission and Vision
Pleasant View's mission is to help individuals with disabilities in living out their goals for meaningful work, relationship, and spiritual development. Our vision is that all people will have the opportunity to live in and enrich their communities. You can make a difference! If you want to spend time with the individuals we support while volunteering, you will need to bring us evidence of a negative TB test taken within the last 6 months per our licensing requirements. You will be trained in HIPAA Compliance and Individuals Rights.
