Volunteer: Deck The Halls at Virginia Mennonite Retirement CommunityAssist the VMRC team with decorating one of our beautiful auditorium spaces for the holiday season. Detwiler Auditorium is one of our large event spaces used for a wide array of resident programs and special events. We would love to have a student organization, group or club adopt this fun and festive opportunity to help us outfit the auditorium for the holidays so that residents can enjoy the many engaging programs happening in Detwiler over the holidays. Lifting may be required. Supplies and direction/support from VMRC will be provided throughout the experience. Volunteer: WWRC Halloween Candy CrusadeThe WWRC Recreation Department is hosting a Halloween Trick-or-Treat/Scavenger Hunt Event for our consumers, and we would like to have volunteers come and assist with the event! Volunteers may help recreation staff with the following tasks: event setup, overseeing candy distribution tables, serving as a "buddy" for a consumer during the event, restocking candy at distribution tables, interacting with consumers and answering any questions about the scavenger hunt, tallying points for the scavenger hunt, gathering event supplies, and assisting with event cleanup! We ask that volunteers arrive early if possible so that they can be provided a quick orientation and tour of the facility! Volunteer Agreement Form There is a Volunteer Application Form/Agreement that prospective volunteers will need to complete, sign, and turn in once they arrive.Parking/Building Entry Volunteers will need to park in Parking Lot G. There is a link to the map of the campus below for visual reference.Parking Lot G is distinguishable by the tennis courts and is visible from the main road (Hornet Rd).Volunteers will need to obtain a visitor's badge from the recreation desk for each visit, or have their JMU badge displayed and visible.Every exterior door in the facility has an automatic lock and requires a keycard to open.
