VMRC is a vibrant continuing care retirement community offering a full spectrum of living options including independent and assisted living as well as complete living care in the city of Harrisonburg. Surrounded by the Blue Ridge and Massanutten Mountains of the Shenandoah Valley, we strive to be a community of hope, meaning and growth where people can age well and live fully.
What We Do
Our Volunteer Program is one of the largest and most robust in the Shenandoah Valley with more than 300 volunteers contributing more than 38,000 hours of service annually toward helping VMRC residents age well and live fully. If we put a price tag on the service hours, it would be nearly one million dollars - now that's a real value!
Different generations have so much to gain from each other. That's why VMRC welcomes the contributions of area students and student organizations. We offer practicum and field placement opportunities, internships and community service-learning experiences in a variety of departments.
