Who We Are

SSVC is a chapter of Potomac Appalachian Trail Club based in the Southern Shenandoah Valley. Many of our members are from the Harrisonburg-Staunton-Waynesboro area. We try to offer a variety of hikes each month. Most of our hikes are in the George Washington National Forest (GWNF) or Shenandoah National Park (SNP).

What We Do

Our chapter maintains a 2-mile section of the Appalachian Trail in the Southern District of SNP. We also have a group that works on Shenandoah Mountain trails in the GWNF. In addition, several of our members have adopted trails in SNP and in the GWNF.  Our tradition is to help each other on our adopted trails.
