Who We Are

The Pantry is a joint effort on campus, supported by the Basic Needs Advisory Board, co-chaired by Off-Campus Life and Community Service-Learning staff, and University and Harrisonburg community partners. The Blue Ridge Area Food Bank ensures we have a consistent supply of quality, nutritious food options.

The Pantry is stocked with shelf-stable goods, some hygiene products, a limited selection of fresh produce from JMU Dining Services each week, as well as fresh bread. Options continue to grow and expand as we understand the needs of our community.

The Pantry is open to ALL JMU students, no questions asked. It is a safe and supportive space where you can get the food and supplies you need.

What We Do

Supplies food and hygiene products to the JMU community. You can visit our locations in TDU and EnGeo to pick up. You can also order through our app - ThePantryatJMU.

In addition to the support of the Blue Ridge Area Food Bank and JMU Dining Services, The Pantry is also generously funded by monetary donations from JMU Dukes past and present, as well as community members Donate here.

If you are experiencing food insecurity, complete this Meal Voucher Request Form Not all students who request vouchers will receive them. We also encourage students to utilize The Pantry for a more consistent supply of food.

SHELF'D

The  Canterbury Episcopal Campus Ministry has a grab-and-go food pantry called Students Helping Every Last Fellow Duke. It's open to all JMU students and is located at 622 S. Main St.

To access SHELF’D, go to the back of the building and take the sidewalk down the right side. The pantry is through the second door that is always open.

SHELF'D strives to offer a stigma-free gateway to nutrition for anyone who feels they do not have enough nutritional food to eat. If you are hungry, you are welcome. No exceptions, no questions asked.
