Who We Are

Collins Center is a Harrisonburg-based nonprofit dedicated to promoting healing through compassionate and collaborative services to all affected by sexual harm. For over thirty years, the organization has supported victims, survivors, and their loved ones through sexual assault crisis support and advocacy, prevention and education, and trauma-informed counseling, serving Rockingham, Page, and Warren Counties, the City of Harrisonburg, and surrounding communities. Our nationally accredited Child Advocacy Center works collaboratively with community partners to provide a thorough and coordinated response to child victims of abuse and their non-offending caregivers. Collins Center reaches over 500 individuals with direct services and approximately 3,000 people through prevention and educational outreach each year.

What We Do

Collins Center provides free, confidential services to survivors of sexual violence and child abuse, including 24/7 crisis support, trauma-informed counseling, and legal and medical advocacy. Our Child Advocacy Center offers a safe, neutral, and child-friendly environment where child and adolescent survivors can share their experiences, receive forensic interviews, and access family advocacy and trauma-focused therapy. We also lead prevention and education efforts in the community, working to stop harm before it happens through outreach and evidence-based programming. By bringing together law enforcement, social services, legal professionals, and mental health providers under one coordinated team, we ensure that survivors never have to navigate the road to healing alone.
