Make a Difference This September – Join Nourishment for Neighbors!
The Arc of Harrisonburg and Rockingham is teaming up with the MLK Day of Service Grant to launch Nourishment for Neighbors from September 15–17—and we need JMU students to help make it happen! This project tackles food insecurity right here in our community by providing families with fresh, nutritious groceries and wellness resource packets filled with affordable, healthy recipes and info on local food programs. You’ll be part of a hands-on effort that directly supports neighbors in need while honoring Dr. King’s legacy of service.
What we are looking for:
1. Grocery Shoppers- Use our provided grocery list to purchase fresh, healthy item and drop off donations at a designated site for immediate distribution.
2. Delivery Volunteers- Deliver groceries directly to recipients who face transportation barriers. All delivery volunteers.
3. Pick-Up Site Hosts- Provide a welcoming, accessible location for grocery distribution. Greet recipients and assist with handing out groceries and resource packets.
