Plan & Execute Simple Activities or Games as an Individual Volunteer or Small Group at Day Program.
Pleasant View supports individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. It can be difficult to meet people and start natural relationships in the community. We need your help to provide opportunities for the individuals we support to make connections and build friendly, meaningful relationships with people in the community.
You can volunteer as an individual or with a small group to plan and implement a fun activity such as:
- playing board games, card or video games,
- art project,
- sing to music,
- simple cooking project
Through these activities, you or your small group can deepen relationships with individuals you know at Pleasant View or meet someone new. This activity is during day program hours. You will have direct support professionals there for guidance and support as needed. Volunteers are not permitted to provide direct care.
Volunteers will receive training before their first day of service. You will need to return the attached or online (https://pleasantviewinc.org/careers-and-volunteers/) application along with a negative TB test you secure from a physician or proof of negative TB test results within the last 6 months. When volunteering, please enter the doors that face Commerce Drive. If you can't come for a scheduled activity, please notify us at 540-560-1134.
