Our Community Place provides case management assistance to community members who are experiencing housing insecurity. One of our strongest initiatives is placing people into housing out of homelessness, in coordination with various local agencies. As our community members find housing, or relocate residence, there is often the need for providing a moving crew. We also receive donations of furniture and other household materials from the greater Harrisonburg community for which this crew is also called upon.
This role is on an as-needed basis. Volunteers are contacted by a member of our housing team up to 48 hours ahead of time.
