23rd Annual Race to Beat Breast Cancer 5K Run/Walk

Description

Join us for the 23rd Annual Race to Beat Breast Cancer 5K Run/Walk organized by the City of Harrisonburg Parks and Recreation Department on Saturday, October 25 at Westover Park. Proceeds from this event benefit the RMH Foundation to provide free mammograms to local patients in need at the Sentara RMH Funkhouser Women's Center.

To help ensure that all women within our community are provided access to breast cancer screenings, will you join us in our race to beat breast cancer by participating in the run/walk or volunteering with us?

  • Participants: If you are interested in walking or running the 5K, please register here: Race Registration. Those who register by Friday, October 4 are guaranteed an event t-shirt. For JMU clubs, civic organizations, and other campus groups, you are encouraged to establish a Team registration page. Walk-in registrations are welcome the day of the event.

  • Volunteers: All volunteers receive an event t-shirt and do not need to register on the race event site. Instead, please indicate your preferred volunteer opportunities by completing this form. Opportunities include:

    1. Packet Pick-up – Friday, October 24, 4:00 – 7:00pm at Westover Park: Assist registrants with collecting their race packets.

    2. Course Marshals – Saturday, October 25, 8:30 – 11:00am at Westover Park: Stationed at strategic locations along the course to guide and encourage participants.

    3. Cheer Squads – Saturday, October 25, 8:30 – 11:00am: Line the course to cheer participants across the finish line. Bring your voice, spirit, and motivational signs!

Thank you for your interest and participation in this impactful community event!
