Volunteering with TRIO provides JMU students with the opportunity to apply their strengths to serve the local community through our programs. We offer flexibility of both scheduling and duties. Our volunteer opportunity also may serve to build a resume that will launch a career after graduation.
We are looking for a crew of volunteers to help TRIO Talent Search and Upward Bound service our participating students (middle/high schoolers). Please see our main page for a full description of our programs.
Volunteer duties are assigned based on need and students' preferences/availability. These duties include meeting students in their schools for advisement/workshops, chaperoning field trips and other events, event planning, communication (i.e., flyers), translations/interpreting, and office work.
